Facilities and Campus Services Welcomes Two New Employees

Facilities and Campus Services would like to introduce two new additions to the Facilities Planning and Construction office project management team: Christopher McConnell (right) and Cory Fischer (left).
Both are Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ 2010 graduates and lifelong Alaskans. Chris is a graduate of the CM program and is participating in the Master's Program in Project Management. Cory is a graduate of the Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Civil Engineering program and is about to complete a Masters in Arctic Engineering. Chris is assigned to the Sports Arena under Stan Vanover's direction; Cory is working on renewal projects and energy related work under John Hanson's direction.

Chris McConnell was raised in Anchorage and is a 2010 graduate from University of Alaska Anchorage with a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management and is currently persuing a Master's Degree in Project Management. Before coming to Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ, Chris spent 10 years in quality control and project administration with Control Contractors, Klebs Mechanical and Alyeska Pipeline Service Company.
Cory Fischer graduated in 2010 from Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (Magna Cum Laude). Cory is currently a graduate student and plans to graduate in December 2012 with a MS in Arctic Engineering and Grad Certification in Port; Coastal and Civil Engineering. Cory worked for Facilities Maintenance and Operations during his undergraduate degree as an electrical assistant, and has learned a great deal about the campus mechanical and electrical systems. He was also a math tutor in the Learning Resource Center. He worked for MLFA as a Staff Engineer for 2 ½ years on water and waste water projects.
