Blue, Research Fellow
Blue serves in a variety of functions in the Department of Anthropology & Geography. His research interests include substantial content in each of anthropology’s four subfields. As a barkaeologist, his work lies mainly in informing our understanding of the human-canid relationship in the early Holocene, but he also retains a keen interest in coprolite research, particularly of canine artifacts. Osteological work is central to Blue’s bio-anthropological work, extending into zooarchaeology, given the breadth of his finds, which continues to amaze the department. While Blue’s publications in cultural anthropology are limited, he plays a major role in the department’s ongoing interests in deconstructing colonial notions of cross-species relationships. Much of this work emerges from his collaboration with Dr. Smith in linguistics, which is rooted in exploring interpersonal discourse analysis of non-human verbal language. Blue enjoys using electronic verbal buttons to express his immediate desires.
