  • 1. Community Engagement Associate — NeighborWorks Alaska

    📍 Anchorage, AK. Full-Time  📆 Available Immediately

    𾱲ǰ´ǰ® Alaska is hiring a  Community Engagement Associate to support its mission of  ensuring all Alaskans have access to stable housing and thriving neighborhoods. This full-time  position in Anchorage offers a salary of $45,000–$55,000 DOE and provides the opportunity to work alongside the Director of Community Engagement and External Affairs. The associate will  contribute to communications, fundraising, partnerships, and special events—playing a key role in strengthening outreach, branding, donor engagement, and community relationships. Responsibilities include creating digital and print materials, managing impact stories, supporting  annual giving, coordinating events, and assisting with grant writing and administrative tasks. This is a great opportunity for someone passionate about housing equity and community development.

  • 2. Quality Data Analyst—Central Peninsula Hospital

    📍 Soldotna, AK. Full-time.  📆 Available Immediately

    Central Peninsula Hospital in Soldotna, Alaska is seeking a full-time  Quality Data Analyst to join its Quality Management team. This onsite role is ideal for someone passionate about using data to drive improvements in healthcare quality, efficiency, and compliance. The analyst will work with large healthcare datasets to create reports, dashboards, and models that inform decision-making and support performance tracking across departments. A bachelor’s degree in Health Informatics, Statistics, or a related field and at least two years of data analysis experience are required. Preferred qualifications include a nursing background, Epic EHR experience, and healthcare industry exposure. CPH offers competitive pay ($34.25–$39.14/hour), relocation assistance, generous benefits, and professional development opportunities.

  • 3. Student Leadership Opportunity – USĢƵ

    The Union of Students at the ĢƵ (USĢƵ) is seeking new members for Fall 2025! This is a great opportunity for students in the College of Business and  Public Policy who are interested in building leadership and advocacy skills while making a  meaningful impact on campus. USĢƵ members represent the student voice, participate in  shaping university policies, and serve on committees focused on academics, legislation, campus events, and more.   • 4. Marketing Telecommunications Internship Opportunity–GCI

    📍 Anchorage, AK. Part-time.  📆 Available Immediately

    GCI is offering a hands-on Marketing Telecommunications Internship in Anchorage designed to provide students with real-world experience in a dynamic business environment. Interns will support the marketing campaign team and gain exposure to multiple aspects of the telecommunications industry. From assisting with digital asset management and event logistics to supporting retail marketing efforts and managing digital signage, interns will work directly with professionals across various departments to complete a project aligned with their interests and GCI’s marketing needs.

    This paid internship is open to high school juniors and seniors, as well as college students with a minimum GPA of 2.8. Ideal candidates are reliable, self-motivated, and eager to learn. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and in teams are essential. Interns must be available for occasional travel between store locations and be comfortable with physical tasks like moving marketing materials. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop professional skills, explore career paths in telecommunications, and contribute to a mission-driven Alaskan company.  

  • 5. NSF Funded I-Corps Innovation Training Program–ĢƵ

    📍 Soldotna, AK. Full-time.  📆 Available Immediately

    This program is available to University of Alaska faculty, staff, and students as well as the broader community in Alaska. The I-Corps program is delivered a few times each year and lasts approximately four weeks. Understanding the needs of the customer, stakeholder, or end-user is essential to evaluate the value of your solution to their specific pain points. Through our program, we provide training and access to a mentor network to support you and your team in their customer discovery process. Teams obtain customer feedback that will help launch your product/business or develop an evidence-based commercialization strategy. Our I-Corps program, as part of a wider Hub project,   . 🧠 Common Interview Questions (and How to Answer Them)

  • “Tell me about yourself.” 
    Keep it brief and relevant. Start with your current role (or education), then highlight skills or experiences that relate to the position. End with why you’re excited about this opportunity. 

  • “What are your strengths?”
    Choose 1–2 strengths that relate to the job. Back them up with examples.

  • “What’s a weakness of yours?”
    Be honest, but show growth. Pick a real area for improvement and explain how you’re working on it.

  • “Tell me about a time you faced a challenge.”
    Use the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result). Show how you handled it and what you learned.

  • “Why do you want to work here?”
    Show you’ve done your research. Mention something specific about the company or role that aligns with your goals.

  • “Do you have any questions for us?”
    Always say yes! Ask thoughtful questions about team culture, training, or what success looks like in the role.

CBPP Spotlight

Cassie Benedict-Monnens

Meet Cassie Benedict-Monnens. She joined the College of Business and Public Policy as the Faculty Support Specialist this past spring and brings with her a strong sense of community, creativity, and enthusiasm. A lifelong Alaskan, Cassie is also a military spouse and proud mom of five children—as well as two energetic pointers who keep life interesting.

Outside of work, she enjoys cheering on her kids in their many sports and activities, exploring local art, painting, and hunting down hidden gem thrift stores around Alaska. Cassie is passionate about supporting others and brings that same energy to her role at CBPP.

This fall, she’ll also be joining CBPP as a student—attending classes alongside two of her daughters. She’s excited to experience the college from a new perspective and looks forward to learning and growing with the CBPP community.
