Internship and Job Opportunities

  • 1. Alaska Indigenous Research Program (AKIRP) Summer Internship

    📍 Anchorage, AK. Full-time and In-person 📆 May 26 – July 31, 2026

    ANTHC Research Services is offering the 2026 Alaska Indigenous Research Program (AKIRP), a paid 10-week internship for Alaska Native and American Indian students and early-career professionals interested in health research, Tribal health, and public health.
    Interns will work on 1–3 projects alongside experienced mentors and gain hands-on experience in data collection, community engagement, health promotion, literature reviews, and presenting research findings. The program includes a one-week orientation covering ANTHC, research ethics, and the Alaska Tribal Health System.

    This position is fully in-person in Anchorage. Interns are paid hourly, with travel and housing provided for non-Anchorage residents and free access to city bus services.

    Eligibility: Must be 18+, Alaska Native and/or American Indian, and interested in a career in health or research. Enrollment in school is not required. Applications open December 2025 at .

  • 2. Business & Process Improvement Intern – Alaska Beauty Peony Cooperative

    📍 Homer, AK. (Hybrid: remote winter, in-person summer)  📆 Winter start; option to continue through summer

    The Alaska Beauty Peony Cooperative is seeking a business or agriculture-related student for a paid hybrid internship supporting inventory system redesign and process improvement. The winter role is remote (5–10+ hours/week at $18/hour) and focuses on rebuilding inventory systems in Google Sheets using advanced features to integrate multiple inventories. The position may extend into a summer internship in Homer with housing provided; summer includes 25 hours/week of farm work in exchange for room and board, plus $18/hour for co-op business work such as order fulfillment, inventory tracking, workflow analysis, and event support. The co-op also seeks support with lean process improvements, including time-in-motion studies for harvesting, processing, drying, packaging, and product development. A food worker card is only required if participating in tea and petal dehydration projects.

    Alaska Wealth Advisors, proudly based in Anchorage, offers a Private Wealth Intern position for motivated students interested in gaining practical experience in fiduciary financial planning and portfolio management.     The Employee Benefits Account Representative Program is providing in-depth training to prepare associates for client-facing and customer-oriented roles. CBPP November Event Wrap-ups

CBPP AI Webinar Series 10

CBPP hosted the 10th installment of its AI Webinar Series on November 5, 2025, featuring Dr. Satish Viswanath of Emory University, who presented “The Case of the Hidden Signatures: Designing Imaging AI to Bridge Patterns, Predictions, and Precision Medicine.” His talk highlighted the next frontier of imaging AI, moving beyond diagnosis to support more precise, personalized treatment decisions and showcasing the power of cooperative systems between human and artificial intelligence.

The event attracted more than 125 in-person and online participants and sparked meaningful discussion across the ĢƵ community and beyond. Alaska State Representative Ky Holland praised the series for its educational value and relevance to both healthcare and Alaska industries, including non-destructive testing and infrastructure development, while Interim Dean Dr. Terry Nelson emphasized the importance of cross-disciplinary innovation and CBPP’s commitment to advancing workforce-focused research. Established by Dr. Helena Wisniewski, the AI Series continues to strengthen CBPP’s role as a leader in AI education and public engagement, with this milestone event reinforcing its growing reputation as a hub for innovation, data science, and real-world impact. The event was held at the ĢƵ Consortium Library and streamed via Zoom, with an on-demand below.

2025 CBPP Student Meet Up

CBPP’s 4th Annual Student Meet-Up was a record-breaking celebration of community, connection, and Seawolf spirit, welcoming more than 110 students and 20 faculty and staff to Rasmuson Hall for an afternoon of food, games, and shared pride. The event also marked the official opening of THE SUITE at CBPP, a new student space designed for collaboration, productivity, and comfort, launched with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and festive mocktail toast.

Students enjoyed friendly competition in the giant Jenga tournament, photo opportunities with Spirit, and a full lineup of games and giveaways, while 45 CBPP students were awarded over $35,000 in scholarships thanks to the generous support of Northrim Bank and AT&T.

Reflecting on the day, Interim Associate Dean Julie Ann Wrigley shared, “The energy, enthusiasm, and sense of community at this year’s meet-up were truly inspiring. Our students showed up for each other, for their college, and for their futures—and that’s exactly what CBPP is all about. Launching THE SUITE alongside such an engaged group made the day even more special.” The meet-up delivered an unforgettable afternoon of celebration and connection, showcasing the strength of the CBPP community and leaving everyone excited for next year’s event.

2025 Native Alaska Training Conference

​​​​​​The two-day in-person training conference, “Alaska Native Values in Modern Governance: Honoring Alaska Native Values in Modern Governance,” welcomed participants to Edward & Cathryn Rasmuson Hall for a meaningful exploration of how traditional Alaska Native values intersect with contemporary governance practices. Bringing together Alaska Native board members and shareholders, Tribal Council members, nonprofit leaders, and community representatives, the conference provided practical tools and shared learning to help attendees navigate modern governance while honoring cultural heritage.

Participants engaged in seven rotating training blocks covering foundational topics such as Reading Financial Statements 101, Robert’s Rules of Order, and Fiduciary Duty, along with specialized sessions tailored to Alaska Native corporations, Tribes, and nonprofits, and featured distinguished leaders including Jolene John, Pat Pitney, and ĢƵ Interim Chancellor Cheryl Siemers. Reflecting the purpose of the event, Sharon Lind, PhD shared, “This conference represents our collective commitment to strengthening Alaska Native governance while uplifting the values that guide our communities,” and we extend sincere thanks to all participants and sponsors who made this impactful event a success — together, we’re making Alaska great.
