The mission of the School of Allied Health at the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ is
to educate and develop allied health professionals to serve all Alaskans.
School of allied health
As part of the College of Health at the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ, the School
of Allied Health is home to training programs and facilities for allied health professionals.
Allied health programs are specifically designed to prepare graduates for work in
rewarding careers in Alaska's rapidly growing health care industry. In addition to
instruction by allied health professionals, most programs provide experiential education
with students working alongside health professionals in real-work situations.
The School of Allied Health also offers continuing educational opportunities for experienced
professionals who are in need of a refresher course or looking to expand their earning
potential in the job field.
Almost half of Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ students have experienced food insecurity. Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ offers several resources to combat hunger and food insecurity, including the Seawolf Food Pantry, which supplies non-perishable foods, as well as three-day emergency food support.
From campus food pantries to statewide health initiatives, Keely Livingston is turning passion into purpose. Keely’s journey into public health began with hands-on work in food security during her undergrad years at Montana State and led her to enroll in Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ's Master of Public Health Program.
The Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Seawolf Food Pantry celebrates its new location with faculty, staff, and students, encouraging those experiencing food insecurity to take advantage of this vital resource.
The School of Allied Health is home to two clubs at Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ. Learn more about the Medical
Laboratory Science Club and Pre-Pharmacy Club by visiting the Student Opportunities
