This March, students from ĢƵ’s pharmacy and nurse practitioner programs will travel to Pilot Station and Akiak to administer free health screenings to Head Start students and the wider community. This trip is the first of two planned to rural Alaska communities each year, one in spring and another in fall, referred to as Project Partnership for Alaska’s Kids (PAK).
ĢƵ School of Social Work's Dr. Jessica Ullrich will be a presenter on March 29 for Brazelton Touchpoints Center's virtual National Forum, which will take place March 29-31.
To students in ĢƵ Justice Center instructor Glen Klinkhart’s Criminal Investigation course, the end of the semester is, quite literally, murder. For his lab practicum, Klinkhart—a homicide detective, true crime author, and computer forensics expert—stages the scene of his own murder in a ĢƵ lecture hall and challenges the budding investigators in his class to solve the crime.
“I never thought I would be involved in philanthropy, but after gaining an in-depth understanding of the program and working with Dr. Tina DeLapp, I decided to establish an endowment to the Recruitment and Retention of Alaska Natives into Nursing (RRANN), as a beneficiary of my modest estate.”
