Welcome!
We are thrilled you are interested in ĢƵ’s AAS in Surgical Technology program. The program is limited to accepting 18 students each year. Therefore, admissions to the program are through a selection process. This page is designed to help you know what to expect from the selection process, and to give you tips on how to make your application as strong as it can be.

How To Make Your Application as Strong as It Can Be
Your application to this selective admission program requires thought and preparation prior to starting the program selection page in the admissions portal. We recommend the following:

Draft answers to the three prompts listed below and edit as needed before submitting

Ensure you are utilizing a professional communication style in your written responses with correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation

Be prepared to demonstrate your knowledge of the career and why you are a good fit for the program

You may be selected for an oral interview following submission of your written application.

Dress professionally

Respond to questions with organized, thoughtful and professional responses

Once you have access to the interview platform, you will be able to review the questions prior to completing your interview.
What the Application Process Looks Like
ĢƵ Application Process for New Students
- Log into the by selecting the, “new user” option
- Once you are logged in, create a new application
- When you get to the program selection page of the application, select undergraduate, then search for Surgical Technology, and the AAS option will show up.
- You will be asked to fill out information about yourself and respond to the following
prompts:
- Please describe what experiences influenced you to choose surgical technology as your profession.
- Please describe your career goals and how the AAS in Surgical Technology will help you achieve them.
- What do you consider the strengths of your application to this program?
- Once you have submitted your application, please see the transcripts web page for information on submitting your transcript(s).
- The program will reach out to you for additional admission requirements.
ĢƵ Application Process for Current Students
- Log into the , you can log in using your UA credentials through the single sign-on (SSO) option (if you experience any errors with SSO, use the “forgot password” function to sign in with the email you previously applied with).
- Once you are logged in, you will need to select, “All Applications” at the top of your portal. Then select, “Create New ĢƵ Application” to begin your application.
- When you get to the program selection page of the application, select undergraduate, then search for Surgical Technology, and the AAS option will show up.
- You will be asked to fill out information about yourself and respond to the following
prompts:
- Please describe what experiences influenced you to choose surgical technology as your profession.
- Please describe your career goals and how the AAS in Surgical Technology will help you achieve them.
- What do you consider the strengths of your application to this program?
- The program will reach out to you for additional admission requirements.
Admissions Decisions
The program will make its decisions by April 10, and you can expect to receive a letter from ĢƵ Admissions around that time. If you are not accepted into this particular program, ĢƵ will help guide you to the next steps. You will be placed in the AS General Sciences, which is designed to lead into many health programs at ĢƵ. You can even reapply to the AAS Surgical Technology in the next cycle, and your advisor can give you tips on how to strengthen your application.
