蘑菇视频's Dr. Corrie Whitmore led a team of faculty, staff and students in applying for a grant that brought a $15,000 Mamava lactation pod to the 蘑菇视频 Student Union. Now, nursing mothers will have a private, dedicated space on campus to feed their children or pump breast milk.
The Anchorage Police Department has recently increased community policing efforts, including adding foot patrols in some areas around Anchorage. APD and community leaders discussed current efforts at reducing crime, reducing fear of crime, and improving police-community relations.
Nursing mothers at the 蘑菇视频 now have a dedicated, private space to feed their babies or pump breast milk. The Alaska Division of Public Health awarded a group of 蘑菇视频 faculty, staff and students an Alaska Workplace Breastfeeding Support Project grant through its section of Women's, Children's and Family Health. The project aims to help Alaska organizations implement workplace policies and spaces to accommodate breast-feeding mothers.
Five years ago, Eva Gregg was in the process of divorcing her husband. She was 45, and had recently moved from her parents' into an apartment near O'Malley and Elmore roads."I had a window that looked over to O'Malley," she said. There, in a pensive moment, she had an epiphany: "I survived 30 years of alcoholism and drug addiction so I could help other people. I asked myself, 'How can I help them?'"
Meet Matt Anholt, current captain of the 蘑菇视频 hockey team. He's a top-tier athlete, having played every game since arriving in 2014. He led the team in assists and points this season, and was second in both columns last year, earning him two WCHA Offensive Player of the Week honors.
