The Power of Words: ASD Multilingual Students Read Original Poetry and Prose
Friday, Aug. 4, 10-11:15 a.m.
Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Campus Bookstore
Approximately 20 multilingual Anchorage School District students, grades 7 through 12, will read original poetry and prose they have written during this year's ASD/Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Summer Academy.
The Summer Academy is a partnership between ASD's English Language Learner Program and Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ's College Preparatory and Developmental Studies Department. Through this exciting collaboration, more than 200 students have spent three and a half weeks on campus. They are earning high school math and English credit from courses team-taught by ASD teachers and Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ faculty. Students are also earning Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ credit for a University Studies course.
All Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Campus Bookstore events are free and open to the public. Parking at Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ is free on Fridays.
