Passport Caravan at Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ - March 6, 2019
by Michelle Saport |
Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Education Abroad and CIEE are teaming up to give away free passports to 50 students
at Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ! As part of the national Generation Study Abroad initiative seeking to double
the number of U.S. students studying abroad by 2020, CIEE has generously covered the
cost of applying for a passport. CIEE will be on campus this Wednesday, March 6, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with passport
agents to help you apply for a U.S. passport, including paying the fees for you! (You are not required to study abroad in order
to receive a free passport.)
The goal of the Passport Caravan event is to support students underrepresented in study abroad. This includes economically challenged students, students with disabilities, first-generation students, and students from diverse backgrounds. If you are interested in applying, please contact Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ's Education Abroad Coordinator Patrick Moore at uaa_oiia@alaska.edu for more information and next steps.
There will also be information sessions on the following days in the Multicultural Center.
- Thursday, Feb. 14, 2 p.m.
- Thursday, Feb. 21, 11 a.m.
- Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2 p.m.
