APPLICATION PROCESS

There are three steps to our enrollment process:

  1. Application
  2. Admission
  3. Registration

Timeline for 2026

    • February 18 - Application Opens
    • March 17 - Lottery Runs and "Confirmation of ĢƵ SEA Admitted Academies" email with enrollment deadline sent
    • Payment deadline - included in email
    • Open Enrollment (2nd week of April) - Spaces not filled by the lottery 
    • June 1 - Academies Begin

Application Deadline: March 2026

 

  1. Application

    To apply to the 2026 Summer Engineering Academies at ĢƵ, please complete the online application form.

    Applicants will receive a “Confirmation of ĢƵ SEA Application” email.

    In the beginning of March, applicants will be included in a randomized lottery selection process.  Applicants will be notified by email to which academies they have been admitted after the lottery selection.  Upon receipt of the admittance email, applicants will be asked to complete the registration process by the enrollment deadline included in the email.

  2. Admission

    Upon completion of the lottery selection process, parents/guardians will receive a “Confirmation of ĢƵ SEA Admitted Academies” email.  Should vacant seats remain in an academy after the lottery, those spots will be available during open enrollment should you choose to enroll your student in another academy. The admittance email will include instructions and links to complete registration.  A completed registration consists of the registration form, payment or tuition waiver, a signed liability/media release (SmartWaiver), and acknowledgement of the SEA discipline policy.  The release will be sent electronically after completing payment. If you are unable to complete the registration or pay the fee online, please contact us at sea@alaska.edu.

  3. Registration

    Once all registration materials, including payment or waiver, the signed liability/media release (SmartWaiver), and acknowledgement of the SEA discipline policy, have been received by the enrollment deadline included in the confirmation email, parents/guardians will receive a “Confirmation of ĢƵ SEA Registration” email. 

    Registration is confirmed after the “Confirmation of ĢƵ SEA Registration” has been received.  If you do not receive this email and you have completed registration, please check your Spam folder or contact us at sea@alaska.edu.

Open Enrollment

During open enrollment parents/guardians can sign up their students for academies with remaining seats available on a first come, first serve basis. Open enrollment will close two weeks prior to the beginning of each academy.

The Wednesday prior to the start of your academy you will receive a pre-session email, entitled “ĢƵ Summer Engineering Academies - YOUR ACADEMY NAME HERE.”  If you do not receive this email the week prior, please contact us at sea@alaska.edu as soon as possible.  This email will contain directions, parking instructions, and other important details.

Refund Policy

Full refunds will be issued if cancellation occurs four weeks or more prior to the start of an academy. Should families cancel within four weeks of the start of an academy, refunds may be received (minus a $25 administrative fee) only if their student's seat is filled by a child on our waitlist.
