This free, online training equips Alaska-based professionals with the practical skills and confidence needed to respond effectively to mental health, substance use, behavioral, and medical crises.

Developed specifically for Alaska’s rural and community-based settings, this course blends national best practices with culturally informed approaches and interprofessional collaboration strategies. All modules are self-paced and fully online, designed for busy professionals and students across the state.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Rapid Assessment & Triage

Participants will learn to recognize crises, apply rapid assessment and triage tools, and engage in effective de-escalation techniques—while maintaining personal readiness, self-regulation, and cultural awareness.

Program Structure

This training includes narrated modules, Alaska-specific case studies, interactive scenarios, and downloadable tools. Participants complete self-assessments and reflection exercises designed to enhance professional resilience and readiness for real-world crisis situations.
